"This kind of event is essential within our city of Plymouth. With several years of experience in the arts and music community work within our venue, we have seen an increasingly vital need to support and help retain the developing artists within the city, at different stages of their careers and from many different backgrounds with many other life experiences.
"Plymouth is a city full of creatives and we know that opportunities to test, share and perform are invaluable to the development of artists and their practice.
"We identify the need to ... build and sustain a diverse cultural ecology, that gives equal value to scale and art form and [we] champion cultural democracy by valuing all creativity. For this reason we see the Plymouth Performance festival as an important feature within the cultural calendar and commit our support for the programme."
